Does anyone have a big block radiator they are needing to get ride of? I am having some trouble cooling my new 455+ during these hot summer days in TN. I have a year one radiator in it now that was a factory replacement and it cannot move enough coolant to keep it below 210-220 while running.
Thanks Dan

1. Is your water pump "blueprinted"?
2. Use no more than 50% antifreeze mix.
3. Make sure the fan is working properly. A factory clutch fan is best.
4. Is the fan shroud installed and the fan set to the right depth inside the shroud?

Is it overheating going down the road, in traffic, or both?

Mark. The water pump is a cast pump that was rebuilt by a club member. So I believe it is correct. I do not have a clutch fan, I have the original set up without the clutch. I am using 50/50 mix. The shroud is covering about 1/3 of the fan. Fan spacer was changed to get it out a little further from the shroud.

Does it heat up in traffic, going down the road, or both?
